Gary Wollin - “Shootout at the Wall Street Corral”
Sponsor - Union Bank of California
Horror
stories about crooked corporate executives, accounting
practices, and investment bankers have made individual
investors highly skeptical of Wall Street.
The three-year dramatic decline in stock prices, coupled
with stock market domination by professional investors such
as banks and large mutual funds, has scared off the public.
Under these circumstances, is it possible for the
individual investor to make money in the stock market? The
answer is a resounding "YES," if you stick to the
time-honored fundamentals of investing. In a very funny,
fast-paced keynote talk, Gary Wollin explains how to take
advantage of these circumstances to make big money.
Gary Wollin is a private financial advisor, specializing in
conservative investments and tax-saving strategies. He
received an M.B.A. from New York University in 1966. Over
the past 35 years, he has been regularly featured in The
Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and many other
publications.
In 1980, Institutional Investor Magazine surveyed
professional money managers at banks, mutual funds, and
insurance companies. They were asked whom they would pick
to manage their own money if they couldn't manage it
themselves. Of the two dozen or so respondents, they named
Gary, along with Warren Buffett and Peter Lynch.
Gary is a senior member of the New York Society of
Securities Analysts and a Senior Fellow of the Financial
Analysts Federation. An accomplished magician, Gary's talks
entertain as well as educate.

Arthur
Andersen was criminally convicted and essentially driven

The policy was just like the standard retention policies
found throughout corporate America. Ben Wright will explain
what happened at Andersen, how Congress reacted with
passage of the Sarbanes-Oxley "corporate responsibility"
Act of 2002, and what the implications are for you and your
company.
Benjamin Wright, recognized the world over as one of the
leading lawyers in e-commerce, is the founding author of
The Law of Electronic Commerce, a comprehensive book on the
legality of electronic transactions and computerized
business records. The book is published by Aspen Law &
Business. A graduate of Georgetown University Law Center,
Mr. Wright is an independent attorney practicing computer
security and e-commercial law in Dallas, Texas.
Since 1988, Wright has delivered over 500 speeches on
e-commerce, privacy, records management, and computer
security and been quoted in publications around the globe,
from the Wall Street Journal to the Sydney Morning Herald.
On May 26, 2001 he was featured in CNBC's 30-minute
