Where you will be working.
You will be working in our company headquarters in El Segundo, CA.
Job Responsibilities: What you will do.
In this key position, you will manage the treasury function, which include processes related to risk and cash management, forecasting, reporting, compliance, supporting audits, along with leading high profile projects, and contributing consulting advice to help shape new product launches and business initiatives. This is an integral position within the company’s global treasury function.
This position reports directly to the Director of Tax & Treasury. It is an opportunity for a leadership role within the Finance group.
Essential Functions:
- Work closely with Tesco Group Treasury, and the shared service center (HSC) to manage the company’s funding, cash flow forecast, and foreign currency exposure;
- Ensure all treasury governance policies and procedures are in place;
- Manage banking relationships;
- Monitor banking and credit card fees, and lines of credit, providing recommendations to reduce charges;
- Lead Treasury related projects to improve working capital, and return on investment;
- Identify, evaluate and implement best practices, new processes, services, and technologies to improve treasury activities;
- Keep abreast of legislative developments that impact the treasury function;
- Liaise with other departments, such as FP&A, Legal, IT, Commercial, Retail, and Loss Prevention as it relates to Treasury;
- Provide technically accurate yet pragmatic advice to stakeholders in structuring specific business transactions;
- Support accounting and tax audits;
- Timely identify, communicate and resolve processing problems to the appropriate stakeholders;
- Identify and attend relevant in-house training and continue to learn more about the companies’ business, products and technologies;
- Provide support to Director of Tax & Treasury with special projects / studies.
Job Requirements: Who we are looking for.
This job requires a highly motivated, detail-oriented, deadline-minded person who has strong verbal/written communication skills to explain technical concepts into plain English for stakeholders.
- 3+ years of treasury experience, which includes cash management, banking systems and products; retail industry experience preferred;
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or related field;
- MBA with emphasis in Finance or certification (CFA, CTP) preferred;
- Proficiency in MS Excel and financial modeling;
- Exceptional organizational skills, ability to multi-task, manage projects, and prioritize;
- Ability to work independently and solve problems and issues with little supervision;
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to deal effectively with staff, management, and banks;
- Ability to anticipate problems and exercise sound judgment in determining courses of action;
- Highly motivated, quick study, critical thinking, bias towards action;
- High ethical standards;
- Ability to effectively manage, develop and mentor staff;
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as function with independent responsibilities;
- Initiative and commitment to self-improvement.
