Job Description: The MIXTEC group has been engaged to find a Vice President, Finance for an Orange County company. The position is with a publicly traded company in the produce industry. The company was founded in 1973 and has grown from less than $200,000 in revenues in 1994 to more than $1 billion in projected revenue this year. The company is international with operations in Canada, the United States and Mexico. The company is driven by internal growth and vertical integration, while maintaining a commitment to acting in a socially and environmentally responsible manner.

The Vice President, Finance, will be responsible for all the analytical and management reporting of the operations. We are seeking a strong leader to analyze, implement and manage improvements in all areas of the accounting division.

The position will require the ability to successfully manage business and employee relationships and to influence people in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate must have solid cost accounting and financial analysis skills. Budgeting, forecasting, and financial and variance analysis exposure is a must as this individual is expected to be a key member of the executive team and a significant contributor to our overall success.


Job Responsibilities: • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure timely and efficient review and audit execution.
• Maintain internal control processes and documentation to ensure responsible working capital management (primarily inventory) and efficient use of company financial resources.
• Complete special project assignments, including ongoing enhancements to the company’s financial reporting and control processes, specifically to streamline the group’s finance function from six companies with redundancy to a more efficient, consolidated finance function.
• Continually evaluate cost components against standards through variance analysis and make timely recommendations of opportunities for increased profitability and operational efficiencies.
• Develop and enforce cost effective accounting procedures to minimize inventory exposure. Organize and manage the annual physical inventory process and the reconciliation of results.
• Manage the month-end close process with respect to the Cost Accounting functions; ensure correctness of accounts by reconciling subsidiary records to the general ledger.
• Prepare and distribute accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial and performance reports with analysis of monthly divisional and segment results against budget.
• Develop and manage an accurate forecasting system based on relevant historical data and current input on orders and trends.
• Ensure that control environment and reported financials are compliant with statuary requirements.


Job Requirements: • An undergraduate degree plus accounting designation with CA preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of applicable experience, including at least 3 years at a Director or VP level.
• Very strong knowledge of financial and cost accounting with specific knowledge of FAS 151.
• A strong understanding of US GAAP and the ability to interpret standards.
• Experience working with and/or leading systems conversions. Oracle knowledge a huge plus.
• Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills.
• Previous employment with a Big 4 audit firm preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish would be an asset.

The Automobile Club of Southern California is seeking career-minded individuals for our Supervisor, Cash Management opportunity in our Corporate Cashiering department in Costa Mesa, CA. This position will supervise a staff of seven employees. Manage the company's cash management operation and the cashiering activities of the organization. Responsibilities include the day-to-day management of the cashiering and bank account activities including wire transfers and EFT payments. Duties include the monthly financial reporting of the cash activities and clearance of bank account reconciliations. Work closely with staff to resolve cashiering issues with field office managers and banks. Participate in the cashiering system testings/enhancements and the development of all cashiering bulletins, policies and procedures. Plan and complete specials projects as assigned.


Job Requirements: Successful candidates have:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting. At least 5 years of relevant work experience including supervisory duties. Prior Treasury / Banking / Customer Service experience is a plus. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong organization skills and able to handle multi-tasking in a very fast-paced environment.
